Independent Variable in Chemistry

Independent Variable in ChemistryI'm sure that you're already aware of the independent variable in chemistry and that's the different forces. It's a measurement of the way one of the bonds in the molecule changes during the process of chemical reaction. Let's take an example to better explain. Let's say that there is a gas containing nitrogen, carbon and hydrogen, it's going to boil. All the different gases in the environment in different temperatures, pressures and densities. When a gas reacts with oxygen it boils. When the molecule reacts with another molecule it heats up the gas so it explodes in flames, the same goes for the fire extinguisher. As you can see the independent variable is somewhat limited to the temperature, pressure and density of the surroundings. The variable you want to be looking at though is the rate of change of the force. The way this is done is by using some type of computer program. If you could apply the force in your palm to a piece of paper then you have a variable that can't be controlled. But if you had a program that recorded the force when you applied it, it would then give you a number that relates to the independent variable. In reality we aren't able to determine the forces directly. We can tell the difference between them by the times it takes to move or react. Think about the flame once it has become hotter and moving faster. It begins to burn from the outside in, not as quickly as it did before, so it's burning from the inside out. The mass flow is what gives us this flow of gas in that. So, if you're interested in the rate of the force you would measure the mass flow.Once you know how long it takes for a chemical reaction to occur and then take this time variable and apply it to the independent variable, you have the two variables you need. Now it doesn't really matter what the independent variable is, what matters is how the independent variable is related to the independent variable. In chemistry you can calculate the per centage of change of the force that the independent variable is going to have. This means that if the independent variable is going to be a change in the temperature of the surrounding gas, it will have a value that is proportional to the temperature of the surrounding gas. Also you can figure out the rate of the change of the independent variable, which is related to the rate of the change of the independent variable. So knowing the values of these two variables, you can then measure the change of the independent variable. Now you may think I'm nuts and why on earth would I want to do this, but it actually works out very well. If you want to learn more about Chemistry or use it in your professional life, you should definitely look into understanding the independent variable.

Fast Food Breakfast Combos for Less Than $5 and 600 Calories

Fast Food Breakfast Combos for Less Than $5 and 600 Calories Image via Pexels Taco Bell I could write an entire article on Taco Bell, so keep your eyes peeled for a lunch edition. It is widely known that Taco Bell has many vegetarian options, and a majority of them are on the $1 value menu! A Grilled Breakfast Burrito ($1, 340 cal) is a good start to any day, and with a choice between bacon, sausage, or plain potato, there is something for all taste buds and lifestyles. If you’re watching calories extra closely, swap out nacho cheese for pico de gallo (.25 extra,   5 cals.) Another good option is a $1 Breakfast Soft Taco, scaling in at only 230 cals, so grab a few, some, for now, some for later! If we are in an extra treat yo’self mood, add a sweet boost to your morning with Cinnabon Delights 2-pack   (160 cals) with a hot cup of coffee trust me, youll thank me later! After some internet sleuthing, I was pleasantly surprised to find that Taco Bell coffee has its own fanbase, and ranked #6 on best fast food coffees. From my experience, their coffee does not taste like its collected dust in a carafe for a week, which is a huge win considering Ive paid two times the price for a cup of stagnant freshly brewed joe from big chain coffee giants. No matter what combination of items you choose your total will still be under $5, so mix and match and don’t forget your choice of sauce (I have a ton in my center console if you forgot to ask for a few more). Image via Pexels Dunkin Donuts This is also another sweet spot of mine (literally) because it hasnt been that long since DD expanded to our West Coast, and now I dont have to choose between awesome coffee, breakfast, and donuts- I love a one-stop drive-thru. For this article, there is one breakfast item that is an all-around winner: the $2.39 Wake-Up Wrap (meat-optional but at no extra cost). With no meat, the wrap comes out to 180 cals, and 20% sodium (skip cheese if youre watching that salt percentage). For  a protein, boost add your choice of meat (maple sugar bacon, bacon, ham, sausage, or turkey sausage) and youll still be just under 300 cals. Ask for their vinegary packaged hot sauce and extra napkins and youll arrive at that early morning class with a happy tummy and stain-free clothes. Now for my favorite part of this breakfast order: ICED COFFEE, YALL. Watch out for promotions, such as any medium iced coffee for $1.50 *stadium thunder applause* which graciously includes cream and sugar (or syrup); substitute cow milk for almond milk for just .25 extra (a steal!). My usual order is an original blend with french vanilla and almond milk. DD Original Blend hot coffee also made the list of top fast food coffees, so try a small black (or not, do you) coffee to stay on budget. wrap + medium iced coffee ($2.79) + tax =$ 4.93 McDonalds McDonalds made the cut because I will sit in a drive-thru line just for a hot coffee. Side note: Gaviña Gourmet Coffee supplies West Coast McDonalds with their famous roast. Does Don Francisco or Cafe La Llave espresso ring a bell? Yep, those are also Gaviña Coffee, too. So I have to do it for my Cuban culture and include a cup of McDonalds coffee. But it doesnt stop there. While youre at it, pick up a $2 McGriddle (430 cals) and $1 greek yogurt parfait (150 cals). No matter what size you get a cup of hot coffee will cost you less than $2 and you get youre still on a  budget, so ball out! Now Im far from a nutritionist, but you do what you can with the time you make and the bills in your pocket. I hope these suggestions help out my early risers and my broke college mates alike. Enjoy!

Why Does Pure Chemistry Make So Much Sense?

Why Does Pure Chemistry Make So Much Sense? To me, the pure chemistry definition makes a lot of sense. I understand it better than most. Not just because I think it is one of the best definitions, but also because it is also one of the simplest.Let me explain to you what I mean by the definition of pure chemistry. Basically, there are only two types of substances. There are those that exist and those that don't. Think about it, is the answer 'All those that do not exist' actually an answer? That answer is simple enough for you to see if you really try. You see, to me, all those substances that do not exist in nature, because they are made up of atoms. Things that consist of these atoms are called compounds. What do you think about this, is the definition of pure chemistry, right? What we are looking at is not just any kind of substance, but a compound of one substance that is completely different from the other substances. Is it true or even possible? Can it be true? That is what you hav e to think about, but believe me, it is!Are you aware of the amazing phenomenon that is currently happening all around you? Scientists are discovering and studying these very same things. They have found out that they are the results of exactly the same natural laws that we have learned over the years. These laws, such as conservation of energy, order, and so on, are absolutely and unequivocally true. The thing is, that it took me a long time to realize that fact and a great deal of study and research to get to the point where I would fully realize and appreciate it. And even after finally realizing this, I still don't think it makes a lot of sense, but that's OK. In the end, my explanation is not really important, is it?

How to Find a Berkeley Computer Science Tutor

How to Find a Berkeley Computer Science TutorThe job of a Berkeley computer science tutor can be a very rewarding experience. To this end, it pays to do the homework before choosing a Berkeley tutor.First, consider if you have the time and the interest to go to Berkeley full time. Many of these schools are full time and require quite a bit of traveling for students. If you are working in an office and doing the work from home, that is an option. However, some programs will not allow you to go home for the summer.Second, check to see what the Berkeley faculty has to say about their tutors. A good example of this is in the game 'Hide and Seek.' The game involves hidden figures and the players solve the clues. Many of the clues require certain numbers, and this has implications for how the game is played. For instance, if the figures are called out to be six or seven, the game involves something like: the number that the clue refers to can either be six or seven. The teacher would explai n the rules to the student and help to help the student to solve the clues in a way that works best for him or her.Third, determine how long you are willing to commit to a Berkeley tutor. Some of these programs have tutors that require you to get to class and back on time each day. This is not a feasible option for many students, but the tutor may have the time.Fourth, consider your own schedule. As mentioned above, many of these programs require students to meet a certain number of classroom hours, while leaving for the rest of the day to attend the activities at Berkeley. Obviously, if you cannot do this on a regular basis, then you may have to look elsewhere. While this may be the case, most of these programs offer tutors that are available for weekend sessions, which may be more possible for you. Finally, it pays to be sure that the Berkeley computer science tutor you choose has a degree from one of the world's top programs. A level of certification is not required by these progr ams, but certification from a premier institution such as the National Association of College Advisors or the Association for Computing Machinery would be very beneficial.

4 Ways to Get Involved on Campus as a Commuter Student

4 Ways to Get Involved on Campus as a Commuter Student This post is part of a week-long series to help new high school and college students prepare for their freshman year. Throughout this week, visit the Varsity Tutors blog for advice, tips, and tricks for this critical transition. College is a unique environment that challenges you to step out of your comfort zone and welcome opportunities for growth. The first piece to branching out of your comfort zone is getting involved on campus, a task that can be particularly intimidating for commuter students. Without the luxury of constant bonding with floormates, commuter students must find ways to feel at home on campus. Commuter students can get involved on campus by participating in on-campus activities, taking advantage of campus facilities, and exploring major-specific opportunities. Are you living off campus this fall and worried about finding your niche? Keep reading to learn four ways to get involved on campus as a commuter student. 1. Get involved as a commuter student by participating in on-campus activities Schools typically host an activities fair at the start of each semester where students can obtain information about many of the available clubs and resources on campus. As a commuter student, it can be more challenging to find a group of individuals who share your interests, but on-campus organizations can provide that network. Activities fairs often have a plethora of options for you to consider, ranging from student government to club sports. Even though it may seem intimidating, task yourself with finding two to four clubs or student activities that hold your interest. Gather information about these organizations, and attend meetings to see which may be the right fit. Dont feel the need to overload yourself with extracurricular activities, though. The point of these activities is to help find your place on campus. Its also important to note that living off campus doesnt stop you from participating in most organizations. Identify groups that interest you, and find ways to thrive in them as a commuter student. [RELATED: How to Make the Most of Your College Orientation] 2. Get involved as a commuter student by taking advantage of campus facilities When you live off campus, it can be tempting to only stay on campus for the duration of your classes. Its key to make staying on campus a habit as much as possible. Dedicate time to exploring the grounds and facilities your school has to offer. There are many ways to get involved on campus through available facilities, including: Visiting different locations that students typically socialize, such as the student union or the quad Studying in the campus library, as opposed to at your home or another off-campus location Exploring campus recreational resources like a pool The more you get to know your campus, the more people youll meet along the way wholl give you reasons to frequent the school. 3. Get involved as a commuter student by exploring opportunities in your intended major Regardless of if youve declared your major, finding ways to get involved in your area of interest can help you feel more at home on campus. Academic departments typically have clubs geared toward that specific subject matter where you can meet professors and other students. Additionally, its a great opportunity to learn whether or not you want to pursue this major long-term. Inquire with teachers in the department youre interested in to see what organizations are available and how to join. This is two-fold: youre able to get involved on campus, while meeting others in your major who you can network with in the coming years. [RELATED: What I Wish I Knew About Picking a College Major] 4. Get involved as a commuter student by spending time in the residence halls Youll likely make friends through your classes and activities with people who live on campus. Take advantage of this and spend time with them in the residence halls. This can open you up to a new network of friends and help you feel more ingrained in the campus lifestyle. These students will also often know of campus events that you may not know about, giving you more opportunities to get involved. [RELATED: 9 Things Every College Student Understands] While living off campus poses a slight challenge, everyone is generally in the same boat as youanxious to make friends and fit in. Explore opportunities thatll push you to step out of your comfort zone and appreciate all your campus has to offer. Any topics you want to know more about? Let us know! Slope Intercept Form Equations Online Tutoring

Slope Intercept Form Equations Online Tutoring Slope is defined as raise over run. The slope of the line is very useful for finding the equation of the straight line. The slope of the line can be calculated given two points on the straight line. The slope intercept equation of a straight line is of the form y = mx + b; here m is the slope of the line and b is the y-intercept of the line. Example 1: Fine the slope intercept equation of a straight line passing through (0, 6) and having the slope 1? Solution: Given is the slope of the line = 1. The slope intercept form of a line = y = mx + b. Hence the line given is y = 1 x + b. Here b is the unknown. Mentioned in the question is, line passes through (0, 6). Therefore, 6 = 1 (0) + b; b = 6 - 0 = 6. Hence the equation in slope intercept form is y = x + 6. Example 2: Fine the slope intercept equation of a straight line passing through (-1, 3) and having the slope 7? Solution: Given is the slope of the line = 7. The slope intercept form of a line = y = mx + b. Hence the line given is y = 7 x + b. Here b is the unknown. Mentioned in the question is, line passes through (-1, 3). Therefore, 3 = 7 (-1) + b; b = 3 + 10 = 10. Hence the equation in slope intercept form is y = 7x + 10.
